Leviticus 20:17-27

11 verses

Leviticus Chapter 20

17"'If a man takes his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

18"'If a man lies with a woman having her monthly period, and uncovers her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

19"'You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, nor of your father's sister; for he has made naked his close relative: they shall bear their iniquity.

20If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

21"'If a man takes his brother's wife, it is an impurity: he has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

22"'You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell, may not vomit you out.

23You shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I am casting out before you: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

24But I have said to you, "You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am ForeverOne your God, who has separated you from the peoples.

25"'You shall therefore make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean: and you shall not make yourselves abominable by animal, or by bird, or by anything with which the ground teems, which I have separated from you as unclean for you.

26You shall be holy to me: for I, ForeverOne, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine.

27"'A man or a woman that is a medium, or is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.'"

Section 2

Isaiah 45:11-46:11

26 verses

Isaiah Chapter 45

11Thus says ForeverOne, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: "You ask me about the things that are to come, concerning my sons, and you command me concerning the work of my hands!

12I have made the earth, and created man on it. I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens; and I have commanded all their army.

13I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make straight all his ways. He shall build my city, and he shall let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward," says ForeverOne of Armies.

14Thus says ForeverOne: "The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you, and they shall be yours. They will go after you. They shall come over in chains; and they will bow down to you. They will make supplication to you: 'Surely God is in you; and there is none else. There is no other god.

15Most certainly you are a God who hidden yourself, God of Israel, the Savior.'" 16They will be disappointed, yes, confounded, all of them. Those who are makers of idols will go into confusion together.

17Israel will be saved by ForeverOne with an everlasting salvation. You will not be disappointed nor confounded to ages everlasting.

18For thus says ForeverOne who created the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, who established it and didn't create it a waste, who formed it to be inhabited: "I am ForeverOne; and there is no other.

19I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness. I didn't say to the seed of Jacob, 'Seek me in vain.' I, ForeverOne, speak righteousness. I declare things that are right.

20"Assemble yourselves and come. Draw near together, you who have escaped from the nations. Those have no knowledge who carry the wood of their engraved image, and pray to a god that can't save.

21Declare and present it. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has shown this from ancient time? Who has declared it of old? Haven't I, ForeverOne? There is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior; There is no one besides me.

22"Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

23I have sworn by myself, the word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and will not return, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.

24They will say of me, 'There is righteousness and strength only in ForeverOne.'" Even to him shall men come; and all those who were incensed against him shall be disappointed.

25In ForeverOne shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Isaiah Chapter 46

1Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; their idols are on the animals, and on the livestock: the things that you carried about are made a load, a burden to the weary [animal].

2They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.

3"Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne [by me] from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; 4and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver.

5"To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?

6Some pour out gold from the bag, and weigh silver in the balance. They hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god. They fall down - yes, they worship.

7They bear it on the shoulder, they carry it, and set it in its place, and it stands, from its place it shall not move: yes, one may cry to it, yet it can not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.

8"Remember this, and show yourselves men; bring it again to mind, you transgressors.

9Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; [I am] God, and there is none like me; 10declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not [yet] done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure; 11calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country; yes, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed, I will also do it.

Section 3

Psalm 25

23 verses

Psalm 25

By David.

1To you, ForeverOne, do I lift up my soul.

2My God, I have trusted in you. Don't let me be shamed. Don't let my enemies triumph over me.

3Yes, no one who waits for you shall be shamed. They shall be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.

4Show me your ways, ForeverOne. Teach me your paths.

5Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.

6ForeverOne, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.

7Don't remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness' sake, ForeverOne.

8Good and upright is ForeverOne, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.

9He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.

10All the paths of ForeverOne are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11For your name's sake, ForeverOne, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

12What man is he who fears ForeverOne? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.

13His soul shall dwell at ease. His seed shall inherit the land.

14The friendship of ForeverOne is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant.

15My eyes are ever on ForeverOne, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.

17The troubles of my heart are enlarged. Oh bring me out of my distresses.

18Consider my affliction and my travail. Forgive all my sins.

19Consider my enemies, for they are many. They hate me with cruel hatred.

20Oh keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be disappointed, for I take refuge in you.

21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.

22Redeem Israel, God, out all of his troubles.

Section 4

Acts 20:13-32

20 verses

Acts Chapter 20

13But we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there; for he had so arranged, intending himself to go by land.

14When he met us at Assos, we took him aboard, and came to Mitylene.

15Sailing from there, we came the following day opposite Chios. The next day we touched at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium, and the day after we came to Miletus.

16For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

17From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called to himself the elders of the assembly.

18When they had come to him, he said to them, "You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, how I was with you all the time, 19serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews; 20how I didn't shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house, 21testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus.

22Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there; 23except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.

24But these things don't count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

25"Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching God's Kingdom, will see my face no more.

26So I testify to you today that I am clean from the blood of all men, 27for I didn't shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

28Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.

29For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

31So watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn't cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

32Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up, and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
